Blackstone CRUISE-INS   

Annual Blackstone Cruise-ins will resume the last Saturday of each month from April through September.

Time: 3-7 p.m.

fIRST FRIDAYS

First Fridays – Live Music takes the Town Square stage on the first Friday in June and August and a sing-off talent show contest with cash prizes in July. The concert series and singing contest features family-fun activities, conhole contest, and more for visitors and residents to have a blast. Bring a chair or blanket. No coolers. Rain or shine. Free admission, donations welcomed.

DATES: June 3, July 1, and Aug. 5. Gates open 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.

 

Arts & Crafts Festival 2nd Weekend in September

Date: 2nd Saturday and Sunday in September
Location: Downtown
Time: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

47th Annual Blackstone Arts and Crafts Festival sponsored by the Blackstone Chamber of Commerce held in the historic museum district, just steps from our quaint downtown area. FREE Admission both days from 10 am to 5 pm. Numerous Arts and Crafts vendors, food vendors, live entertainment on stage, pickles and preserves contest, huge tractor and car show, Kids Zone and petting zoo with barrel train rides, Civil War re-enactment, tours of Schwartz Tavern and a Judged Art Show by DBI (contact Elizabeth Farina at (434) 292-3041 at the Robert Thomas Carriage Museum, wine tasting and merchant mart. 5K run/walk at 8 am Saturday morning. OKTOBERFEST 2016

                

             Takes place noon to 5pm on Saturday, September 24th. Featurs authentic German food,              German libations, and an authentic German band, plus face painting and  fun and games for

Annual Downtown HoliDAY OPEN HOUSE

Date: Friday, November 25th
Location: Downtown Blackstone
Time: 6 -9 p.m.

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, Blackstone, Virginia, will hold its Downtown Holiday Open House following the community’s traditional Grand Illumination in the town park. 

Attractions include musical entertainment, the famous Bevell’s Hardware Holiday Train Display, and both of the town’s museums, Scwhartz Tavern,  c.1790, and the Robert Thomas Carriage Museum welcome visitors. 

 

Grand Illumination in Seay Park

Date: Friday November 25th
Location: Seay Park, Main Street
Time: 6 p.m.

The Annual lighting of the park delights children of all ages. Seay Park is transformed into a twinkling wonderland during the holiday season. Thousands of lights illuminate numerous decorated houses. Santa makes a special appearance, and there are miniature train rides for the children. Hot chocolate and cookies are even served free of charge. This event is truly a family tradition in Blackstone.

Bevell's Hardware ANNUAL RUNNING OF THE TRAINS

              

               The Bevell's Hardware Store Train Display will be running in its 39th year in 2016. The model train display is open from the Friday after Thanksgiving until the second Sunday in January. Closed Christmas Day.

If you would like to apply for a time slot for your next function, consider the Town Square as your venue. It's the best deal in town and it's free to the public! Applications are available at 217 N. High Street, the DBi office. You can also pick them up at the Town offices at 100 W. Elm Street.
