It will be taught by industry professionals, including the Longwood Small Business Development Center and Letterpress Communications.
Businesses located within the historic district also have the opportunity of competing for up to $5,000 in grant funding.

Class Participant Eligibility Guidelines
- You must be actively in business within the Town of Blackstone.
- Confidentiality is a MUST! In order to participate, all participants must certify that business concepts and other class discussions will be kept confidential and will not be shared with others.
- Please note: While the classes are open to anyone in Blackstone, in order to be eligible for grant funding, businesses must be located within the historic business district.

Pitch Night Rules
- THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES IS FINAL.
- Classes are open to anyone in Blackstone but in order to be eligible for the grant money your business must be located within the historic business district
- Town of Blackstone will award grant packages, totaling up to $5,000 in cash for the top business proposals. Grants will be awarded in a lump sum following the judge’s decision
- Business proposals will be scored using several criteria, including strength of business plan, experience, match with local needs, etc. and requires a minimum of one (1) employee, current payment of all business licenses and applicable taxes, etc.
- Businesses must attend 6 of 7 classes throughout the program AND the pitch night in order to be eligible for grant awards. Businesses are encouraged to send 1-2 participants through the program in order to ensure coverage for attendance each week.
- Selected businesses will be encouraged to volunteer and participate in downtown activities, including special events and extended-hours campaigns.
For the final class on Week 8, Growversity will host a pitch night at the Blackstone Fire Department, during which you can showcase your business as you compete for grant funding. Please note that, while classes are open to anyone in Blackstone, in order to be eligible for the grant money your business must be located within the historic business district.
